My name is Mia. I am a single mother with two sons, Tristan and Jordan. Their father is involved in their lives, but not financially stable, so affordable child care is critical for me to be able to care for my children. The scholarship I receive from the YWCA Child Care and Development program makes all the difference for my family. I work 40-50 hours a week in the Labor & Delivery Department of a local hospital. Because of the scholarship, my children have access to safe, loving environment where they are learning so much. Without the scholarship, I don't know how I would make ends meet and still provide them with the level of care they deserve. Before I found out about the YWCA, Tristan had a traumatic experience at the daycare he had been going to because they didn't provide children with enough one-on-one attention. I'm so thankful for no longer having to choose between providing for my family, safe care for my children, and having a little time on the weekends to spend building memories with my children.
